The year 11 art students took inspiration from different environmental scenes from around the world and spent around 45 hours on the project in their own time.

They were given a helping hand by pupils from St Gerard's who provided ideas.

Head teacher Trisha Lunn said: "We have been extremely impressed, not only with the quality of the art work, but with the commitment Catherine and Mona have shown to the project.

"The children have been following the progress of the panels, becoming more excited as their ideas for the designs gradually appeared on the boards.

"The girls have given so much of their own time, even during the summer holidays and we are so grateful to these two very special young people."

A celebration assembly is set to take place at the school in recognition of the work.
