Wath man admits killing wife and daughter
A 70-year-old man has admitted killing his wife and daughter at their home in Wath.
Peter Redfern, of Sandygate, Wath, admitted the manslaughter of his wife Jean (67) and the murder of their daughter Sarah (33) when he appeared before a judge at Sheffield Crown Court today.
The offences took place at the family home on July 22 last year.
Postmortem results revealed that Jean Redfern suffered asphyxiation and her daughter died from severe head injuries.
Redfern is due to be sentenced tomorrow.
