Mums urged to “ask the midwife” via Twitter

TWEETING mums-to-be can take to the internet to get vital advice about their child’s impending birth and the reality of parenting.

Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust's Twitter account will be taken over by student midwife Rosie Hotchkin between 9am and 5pm on Tuesday (5) to answer any questions expectant mums — and dads — might have.

All you have to do to ask the midwife is tweet your question to @RotherhamNHS_FT and Rosie will answer as many questions as she can during the day.

A spokeswoman for the Trust said: “If there are too many for her to answer during the day, we will try and get the night shift to answer some, depending on how many ladies go into labour that evening...”

Rosie recently came second in the Royal College of Midwives' Student Midwife of the Year award and has been shortlisted for the final of the Nursing Times' "Student Midwife of the Year". She will find out how she's done on May 5.
