Doncaster Coroners’ Court heard that Alan’s blood pressure fell and heart rate went up after the general anaesthetic procedure and he died on July 10.

Alan's foster mum Anne Tranmer (58) said that Alan had not been expected to live more than a couple of years when he was born, but he had continally beaten the predictions of doctors.

The funeral will take place at Rotherham Crematorium at 11.40am on Monday with family flowers only and donations in lieu to Martin House Hospice, Wetherby.

A balloon launch will follow the service and mourners are requested not to wear black.
